Cookie Policy

Effective: 1 July 2025  ·  Updated: 30 June 2026  ·  Version 1.1  ·  atmasarathy.com
"Na aham karta, Hari karta" — I am not the doer; the Divine is the doer.
Cookies are mere tools — instruments in service of your experience. They hold no authority over you.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website to remember information about your visit. Think of it as a chalk mark left on the doorstep by a merchant so they remember you arrived — nothing more. Cookies are not programs; they cannot read other files on your device or carry viruses.

AtmaSarathy uses cookies and similar browser storage (localStorage) to make the platform function and to remember your preferences.

2. The four kinds — the Chatur Varga

Just as human pursuits are classified as Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha, cookies serve four purposes. We use only the first two.

3. localStorage

In addition to cookies, AtmaSarathy uses your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to store small, non-sensitive items on your device. These never leave your device and are not transmitted to our servers. They include:

You can clear all of this at any time via your browser settings (Settings → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data). Note: if you are signed in, your acknowledgement of our service notice is recorded in your account (see our Privacy Policy), not only on your device.

4. Third-party cookies

AtmaSarathy does not embed advertising scripts, social media trackers, or analytics pixels. The only third-party cookie mechanism is Supabase's authentication token, set in your browser by Supabase infrastructure (Mumbai region) and strictly necessary for login.

5. Your cookie choices

For strictly necessary cookies, no consent is required — they cannot be disabled without breaking the service. For functional cookies, you have full choice.

Manage your cookie preferences

Your current choice is stored in your browser. You can update it at any time.

Managing cookies in your browser

Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or maintaining a session.

6. Do Not Track

If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal, AtmaSarathy honours it. We do not engage in cross-site tracking in any case, but if DNT is active, we additionally disable non-essential functional cookies automatically.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we add new features that involve cookies. Material changes will be announced to registered users by email. The latest version is always at this page.
